Rahab - The Discerning Heart God uses people to accomplish His purposes no matter how seedy or insignificant their past. Rahab did not let her sinful past keep her from laying hold of the treasures of God's grace. She seized the new role God had for her among His people, and because she trusted Him, safety from His judgment was only the beginning of her rewards.
Eve - The Seducible Heart What a wonderful life God created for Eve. She knew no difficulty, disharmony, disease, or death. Yet one day trouble came looking for her. Satan, the author of evil, came disguised as a seductive serpent to dispense his heart's vile treasure. God had hurled this mutinous angel out of heaven. Now, full of bitter hatred and armed with pride, Satan vengefully schemed to break God's heart and ruin His plan for humanity.
Potiphar's Wife - The Unfaithful Heart One day I noticed the handsome building inspector across the expanse staring at me from the Building Department. Immediately something flashed in my soul, like light caught in the water. He smoothly smiled and looked away. The intensity of his vibes stunned me. It happened again the next day. Only this time our eyes met, a message was given and received, an agreement was made. The transaction was done in a moment with our eyes, and when they had separated, I knew I was in trouble. We had begun a flirting relationship across the hall.

THE WOMEN OF THE WORD SERIES
This series consists of three separate books that offer a range of valuable lessons derived from searching the hearts and lives of the Bible's fascinating women. Discussion questions at each chapter's end make these books ideal for personal or group study.
This has been a truly exciting series for me to work on. I learned a lot from these studies, and I know you will, too. I found it incredibly enriching to delve not only into the actions of various biblical women but to let the Holy Spirit sift the motives of each one's heart. He brought me some startling revelations about them and about myself. What I gained most from these studies, however, was a much greater appreciation for the major role that women played in the Bible, both in the Old and New Testaments. Women have been and will continue to be of great significance in the fulfillment of God's purposes in the earth. That means, you, too! -- Cheryl
Treasures from the Heart: The Value of Godly Character

Christian women everywhere desire to see God work in their heart. This book looks at the defining characteristics of Bible women and how the condition of their heart reflected their relationship with God. Using background details, anecdotes and illustrations, she applies their stories to God's daughters today so that they may sift out worthless treasure in favor of true spiritual riches.
This is the only book in the series that includes women who failed along with women who succeeded. In fact, I’ve paired various women to provide an in-depth study of their differences at the heart level. You’ll see, for instance, Mary Magdalene’s yielded heart contrasted with Jezebel’s controlling one; Rahab’s discerning heart contrasted with Eve’s seducible one; Ruth’s flexible heart contrasted with Michal’s hardened one. It all gets down to the treasure that fills human’s hearts — precious treasure or worthless treasure. Not just a Bible study, this is a heart study. While you study these women’s hearts, the Holy Spirit will also show you your own heart. His goal will be to see your heart cleansed and filled with His precious, life-renewing kingdom treasure.
“Not only will you get to know many of the Bible’s women down to the heart level, but along the way you’ll get to know some contemporary women, including me. You’ll also get to know yourself better, and find yourself deeply challenged and enriched.” — Cheryl
Reviews: Author and speaker Cheryl Ford serves up her second Crossway offering demonstrating the value of godly character through the women of the Word. In Treasures Ford urges women to forsake their spoils and embrace God's character. What the heart contains is of utmost importance. It is to be a treasury of God's marvelous riches, not the "junk" that is sometimes cherished, either knowingly or unknowingly. Ford looks at a defining characteristic of women of the Bible and how it is reflected in their relationship with God. Using anecdotes and illustrations, as well as many background details, Ford applies their stories to the lives of women today. With Scripture references and "Heart Check" questions for each chapter, Treasures From the Heart will help women meditate on the Word, while reflecting on their own lifestyles. -- Christine D. Johnson, Christian Retailing
This book is intended to spark individual renewal. Looking for God in earthquakes, tornadoes, and public revivals often ends in disappointment and flagging faith, says Ford. She suggests a sure way to allow God to communicate with us: Keep an open heart because His still, quiet voice converses with every seeking, listening soul. Ford conveys her message through stories of well known biblical women.... Her conversational style makes the reading easy and lightens the well-researched information. Insightful "Heart Checks” end every chapter and would facilitate lively group discussion. I recommend this title to women seeking revival and blessing. — Marsha Drake, CBA Marketplace
